The 5th Shakespear's Sister single was released in September 1991, to this day it remains a favourite of fans, both video and song.
The epic video was again directed by Sophie Muller and depicts both Siobhan and Marcella in glamorous 1940s starlet roles.
Shot in black and white with small segments of colour, the video is like a mini film, theatrical and over the top glamour with clips of Siobhan complete with ringlets jumping on a bed with a studio performance of the song.
This was the start of the darker visual image of Shakespear's Sister (enter the sequins) and a more creative spin on their songs through video.
'Goodbye Cruel World' won an award for best video, and well deserved.
